Banihal, Sep 27 (KNO): A 17-year-old girl was injured after being attacked by a bear in the Gujar Nar area of Banihal on Sunday, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the girl was injured after being attacked by a wild bear near Bankoot in Banihal.
He said she was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for medical aid, where she was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further treatment.
The girl was identified as Ifroza Banoo (17), daughter of Fareed Ahmed Gujar, a resident of Gujar Nar, Bankoot.
The incident has caused alarm in the area, while locals have urged the authorities to take note of the incident and take measures to prevent further attacks.—(KNO)
